The piping is 2 1/4". It is not just a straight shot though. The inlet and outlet are slightly offset, so you will need to bend the pipe, unless you just weld the straight piece in at an angle. That might be tricky though.

thanx for lookin out Kev wink

Also if you ever want to get the sho-shop y-pipe the rasp and drone gets muliplied. Your best bet is to cut the rear mufflers out and put some nice tips on. But if you do decide to do it i'll be happy to take that resonator off your hands.

hey, as long as we're on the topic, whats a glasspack? ive heard of people putting those in place of a resonator. what do they do, and why do they take out the rasp noise? also, what mufflers do you recommend? im thinking about taking out my resonator and putting a highflow muffler on.. how many hp can i expect to gain? and whats the best way to do it without sounding like a ricemobile? how much can i expect to pay? i have a 96 se.

thanx for the info...i was thinking of putting on some better mufflers...any suggestions are the best as far as power without making it too loud??? im all about performance but i dont want this thing to sound like flowmaster american thunders coming down the road...one of the finer points about this car is that it can be driven like a caddy.

Eli, a glasspack is a style of muffler popular in the 60's and 70's. It is bullet in shape and consisted of a straight-thru core surrounded by fiberglass wool-like packing. It would start out with a nice but loud mellow tone that would get progressively louder and raspier (more high frequency content) as the fiberglass blew out. They did give good hp gains over stock mufflers. They fell out of favor when the current chambered style mufflers and steel wool packed mufflers came onto the market.
