Hi guys

Long time no post

Some of the old timers might recognise me, I run www.fordmondeo.org

Does anyone know of any SVT Contours in the UK at the moment? (possibly for purchase?)

Cheers!

woah monkeyra! Haven't seen you in forever!

Kane is in Germany right now and I thought he posted on the MEG once in a while too. Some sort of meet going on soon that he was hoping to attend I believe.

We also have weinsean in Austria with his 99 SE.

I left the 99 SE in the US. But I have been thinking of visiting some friends in the UK, will see when there is a MEG meet.

Well, my car is in Illinois, but I was in London this weekend and just came up to Leicester Sunday afternoon. I'll be here until Thursday.

Hmm... I was thinking of getting a new car

But nah, I think my car would need too much work to pass inspection. Polizei stopped me last week and pointed at a few things that were illegal in Germany on my car. That topic.

But if you really are searching for an SVT Contour, look around where there are some Americans, like RAF Lakenheath, RAF Mildenhall, RAF Alconbury, or RAF Croughton. I mean, I've seen no less than 5(!) SVT Contours here that are not members of any forums, so there's gotta be some up there!

You are correct! I hope to have all the small things fixed this summer so I can get up to a MEG meet sometime. Would be pretty sweet

Coming to a MEG Meet would be cool!

I don't think theres been a MEG/CEG meet since myself and "paul from the UK" met up in Tampa along with "T-red SVT" way back in 2000 or 2001, I forget which year.

I've seen a couple of Contours on the road here, but I dont live near any USAF bases, so thats why.

That sucks... I've already had some offers from the UK to buy my car, but it all has to wait since I'm sure my car needs some work to MOT it... Only reason my car passed German inspection was because a low ranking Air Force guy inspected it!

Major things I've heard I can fail for: cold air intake, only having about 3" of clearance, no cats (uhh... yeah), and loud mufflers.

Soon the car will have headers and a different CAI setup, maybe even dual exhaust.

Don't know of a SVT in the UK but I have mine in Spain. I just joined your MEG but found the website a little confusing. How should I ask questions about using ST parts on my SVT? Right now I need new rear struts. My local Ford dealer is willing to service the car but seems to be unable to locate either Mondeo or Contour parts for it.

From the other posts I agree the best place to find Contours would be near US military bases. US military personnel can bring their cars to the UK and return them to the US for free.
