My '99 Contour has moisture in on the inside of both headlamp lenses. I know I could buy new assemblies, but I'd rather not drop $200 on it. I'm thinking about removing the assemblies, rinsing them with alcohol and letting them dry, running silicon sealer along the edge where the lens meets the housing, and reinstalling them. Does this sound like a reasonable solution? Any other ideas?

not a bad one...or you could let them sit in the sun for a day or so until they dry up, or use a hair dryer then reseal them. either way is ok to do, but youd better get then dry fast because thats how they end up looking hazed and crappy!

Thanks, Kevin. I already removed the headlight assemblies and dried them out. I used a hair dryer, but it still took a while for them to completely dry out. Now I can see a lot of spiderwebbing in the lenses, but they still shine and look much better than they did.
