Well, I noticed the heat soak when I installed the KKM, but thought it was a common side effect with the open air element. But, I just recently noted the discussions that have been had on the heat shield, and when I tried contact the custom heat shield guy in Colorado, his email didn't work. So, since I'm new to the CEG thing and moding my baby, (1) where can I get a custom heat shield, (2) how much power do I lose without it in extreme temp's (Houston summers get into the 100's easy), and (3) how often do we have to clean the S&B Power Stack so as to not compromise the engine (I've never oiled and cleaned it, and I've had it on for about 9 months since purchase)?

Any help would be great, since I've sifted through the archives and come up with contradictory, piece-meal suggestions. . .

John probably has a different email address than the one you found.. He just changed it a couple weeks ago. I'll drop him a line and let him know you were looking for him.

I asked Lance to change my email info to reflect jcaimhigher@hotmail.com. Maybe he's been busy. I still have the hotmail email and my primary is jcaimhigher@ixpres.com.

Nothing against jc-aimhigher, I may even buy his heat shield, but I thought of making my own useing plexiglass. I have a very large piece of smoked plexi but would it get to hot for it and melt. I have used plexi in a stereo install to cover the battery and fuse holders under the hood and it lasted until I took it out. If it is going to be to much trouble I may just buy one premade, but I thought it would be custom looking to build one out of plexi.
