My fuel guage started malfunctioning soon after I bought the car (99 CSVT). Was contemplating replaceing the fuel pump/sender unit until I saw an article in the LA Times on Wednesday about fuel quality. Seems that gasoline with a high sulfur content can cause the fuel level sender to malfunction because it reacts with a silver component in the sender. It went on to say that Chevron has come out with a new additive, Techron Concentrate PLUS, that may remedy the problem. I just put some in the tank and will report back with results soon.
