Looks like the left rear tires are missing.

45 passengers and 3 crew members

HOUSTON -- A Continental Express jet with apparent gear problems is circling Houston's Bush Intercontinental Airport in an effort to land.

Live T-V reports showed the plane flying low, as controllers apparently tried to check the status of the main gear.

The left gear appears to be damaged, possibly missing some tires.

The plane is a twin-engine regional jet.

Media reports indicate the plane had taken off from Houston, bound for Minneapolis.

Great. I fly out of Bush probably 3-4x a month on Continental...

Those bloody Embraers always felt like rattle-traps and anything over a 2-hour flight was just miserable due to a lack of space.

Oh, well; like their in-flight infomercial says "they fly one of the youngest fleets in the US" and are "one of the safest carriers in the world".

Makes you think about the crap the mechanics see with US Scareways, NorthWorst and Untied Airlines birds...

Yea. I was watching it Live while at work when it landed.

Some of my co-workers were like " Aww that was boring, I wanted to see some smoke."

ERJ's have a good safety record.

However, the aircraft that has the title of most dangerous airliner is Embraer's EMB-120 Brasilia turboprop (many problems with the Hamilton Standard propellers).

There was a big accident because of the propellers (lack of proper maintenance with design flaws) a few years ago with Atlantic Southeast Airlines (ASA).

I actually trained for that in a little Cessna once. Have to relearn it though (haven't flown since 2004 )

Is my car for sale? PM me if you're in South FL.
