Yeah its the same motor excpet for the larger TB and MAF. Amazing how SVT got all that money out of us poor saps who didn't know any better. That is what must make up the 30HP difference!

I feel like a loser for paying over 5K more a loaded SVT rather than a LX or SE.

Check the FAQ's and do a little light reading and then explain to me whats different mad :rolleyes: wink

IIRC, the SVT tranny is supposed to have a lighter flywheel and shorter shifter as well.

The SVT motor has ported lower/upper intake manifolds, bigger throttle body, bigger MAF, higher compression (pistons? heads? dunno), and quasi-dual exhaust. That 5K also paid for bigger front brakes, a better suspension, and of course a rare and beautiful car. Don't feel cheated...I sure as hell don't!

Different shifting mechanism. 98+ uses cable, pre-98 uses rod. That's the difference between the tranny of a 98+ SVT and pre 98.

As for just buying parts and changing your car, its much diff. my friend. Right now if you read around you will see I am having problems, b/c I just bought the BAT upper and lower intake manifolds, and am having just a few problems such as the wiring harness for the SE injectors is different than the SVT 19lb injectors. Also the fuel system on the SE composes of two hoses b/c of return fuel, while SVT has only one. If I can get this to all work out in the end, than I will post sort-of a how-to and what all it takes to do this job.

SO WHICH ONE WOULD YOU BUY IF YOU HAD A CHOICE BASED ON BODY STYLE SINCE YOU CAN CONVERT A PRE 98 MOTOR TO SVT SO EASILY?

{98 SE= FUEL RETURN} {SVT= NON FUELESS RETURN}
WHICH ONE IS THE BEST TO HAVE NON OR RETURN FUEL
