while at this party last night in Albion, back at this sorority house late into the night i run into this kid, seems pretty cool.
strike up conversation, and somehow we end up on cars.
at that point, he turns into pure idiocy... as it turns out, he seems to be one of those "chevy boys" some the guys around here are not quite fond of.
first of all, he had no idea what a Contour SVT was, but that doesn't make him an idiot. after i explained to him the differences in suspension, body kit, and engine, he still thought it was 'just a contour.'
so then i asked him what he drove, to which he replied 1977 Camaro Z28. so i said, "oh, a camaro huh?"
"NO! a Z28!"
"ok, so you see my point now?"
-brief interruption: this was about 4:30 am, and we were both sober by this point-
"your point? that your car is crap?"
after that, i just gave up on him figuring out anything about my car.
we started talking about camaros corvettes, which happen to be the only 2 cars this kid likes. period.
then we start comparing those against other cars, and since i own an SVT, i of course drop in with the '03 Cobra. he had a [censored] fit at that point, starts blowing up about how Ford can't engineer crap and that they have to use a supercharger to make that kind of power (you guys know the type...) and how the Z06 makes 505 stock naturally aspirated.
this point i felt like arguing.
i brought up as an argument that the z06 engine - if i'm not mistaken - is a 7.0L engine, whereas the cobra is a s/c 4.6L. so he says to me, "Who the [censored] are you kidding? displacement doesn't make a [censored] difference!!"
this i had to argue with him for a while, and i did, because that is just plain ignorance. we continue going on and on, and he's not coming down off his perch about ANYTHING. i seriously can't change this kid's mind with any logical and reasonable argument.
somehow we end up back on forced induction, about how 3 of the 4 latest SVT models use them, and Japanese cars tend to be modded with them, and out of nowhere, he just blurts out, "anything with any type of forced induction is just a [censored] ricer..."
i seriously couldn't believe he has just said that, because that gave me the absolute perfect way to shut him up, but i was gonna save it for last
so i started off with Ford: "You're saying the '03 Cobra is rice?"
-"[censored] yea!"
"Ok, and the lightning too?"
-"who are you kidding? yea!!"
"ok, buicks? with the supercharged 3800 V6?"
-"yup"
"ok, how about the 1988 Callaway Sledgehammer Twin Turbo CORVETTE!?!?"
-".........."
after that, i really didn't care about the rest of his previous comments, i was just glad i had shut him up, and so was almost everyone else.
i know some of you really don't care, and i'm not necessarily proud of this, i just felt like sharing. it's really interesting to find out the kind of ignorance some people can hold.
thats the type of ppl i have to put up with every day at work 
. I just gave up on trying to explain these cars to people. Wehn I haad my Mystique I one person ask me why I was looking on a contour board, when I drove a mystique? Then he went on to tell me that they are not the same car and don't share anything in common 
. I think the best one that I heard was just after I got my SVT I saw a guy that also had a CSVT and I started talking, but I lost all respect for him when he tried telling me that the CSVT uses the 2.5L from the Mazda Millenia
