Took the car to an open track event with some friends. Track day at Gingerman courtesy of D-Tek Enterprises.

I think this is how engineers designed the trunk of the Contour..

Hoosier R3S04's - 205/45ZR16 - may change to a taller tire.. see below .

Jack cover now lives somewhere on I-94.

Getting kinda close to the ground..

Maybe a bit too close..

Since I am part Camaro guy..

Yes please..

Some of the locals.. didn't make it out to the track.. (Mark is this your place ??)

Conclusions:
- Focus Brakes - Excellent. Can't wait to get some race pads.
- Suspension Tuning - Konis make huge difference!!! Still need to tune the setup a bit more. Spring rates are not optimal.
- Hoosiers: Work great - May need a taller tire. Also should not forget pyrometer at office next time. Do not work well in light rain .
- If I had a Mirko - it would not have survived - would still be at Gingerman on the ground somewhere.

More pics to come of what else was there.. have to get all my pics together.

150 bones for the full day. Used to be cheaper, but went up with liability costs. With 4 different classes on the go.. worked out to be 2 full hours on the track. Keeps the tire budget reasonable.

There is another one coming up in June.. PM for details.

Yeah, I like that one. Unfortunately car is going slow as that is the turn into the pits . Makes the car less blury though as it is less difficult to get the camera to focus correctly.

As for pic.. you've got mail.

I can't beleive you fit all 4 wheels in the trunk, it must be because of the shorter sidewall. Stock sized wheels and tires wouldn't fit in my trunk without lowering the back seats down and one of them in the back seat area.

My 205/55/16 tires mounted on the wheels fit fine in my trunk. That's wierd they didn't fit for you.
