96 Mystique GS Zetec, ATX
Trouble code is p0171 running lean. I've replaced all the parts I can think of as a "routine" maintenance program over the past 2 years (as the wife lets me put something on to try to fix it). The light has been on for almost 4 years now, reset everytime I get emissions tested.
According to my scantool.net reader, running in idle with all accessories off, I get
Sensor 1, Bank 1 .040v @ 32.81% short term fuel trim
Sensor 2, Bank 1 .000v @ 25.25% short term fuel trim
Sensor 1, Bank 2 1.275v @ -20.31% short term fuel trim
Sensor 2, Bank 2 .000v @ 25.25% short term fuel trim
TPS value is 16.9% at idle
MAF reading is .2 lbs koeo
It seems odd to me that I could get that much voltage out of the o2 sensor even with raw fuel being dumped into it.
The MIL first came on at 120,000 miles. With all the leaks, I went ahead and replaced all the gaskets, seals, plugs, and sensors. The only gaskets I didn't replace were the intake, throttle body, and fuel injector orings. Those are next, eventually. Short of selling the car (which will happen soon), what can I do to get rid of the MIL? Is there any way I can tell if I have the right ECU in there, as that one was changed in the process. Reading 2 sensors and 2 banks is kind of worrisome. Of course, that could just be the software.
Any help would be appreciated. I'm getting rid of the car in the next few months. But, it would be nice to solve a problem I've been working on so long.
