I'm very sorry that you lost a friend, I will pray for his family and for his friends.
As for the person driving the EVO, he has taken away something precious that can never be replaced. He may not know it yet, but even if your friend's family forgives him, he will never forgive himself. He may very well spend a good portion of the rest of his life having nightmares replaying the accident in slow motion, and wishing he was the one killed and not your friend.

unlikely, if it was 60 in a 45. that is not "reckless driving" and while "stupid" it doesnt even seem that unreasonable. who knows what the exact circumstances are that caused him to lose control. perhaps a jaywalker, animal, another driver, etc.... dont crucify someone without knowing all the facts. he's got it bad enough as it is.
sorry to hear about your loss. its unbelievably tragic no matter how you look at it.

I don't think doing 60 in 45 is reckless, but it is speeding and since when does speeding mean street racing . I do understand your point that it is stupid for people to be flying especially in deep snow. I can't say the guy was reckless on the fact he was 15 over the limit, but it's how he was driving which make sit reckless (weaving in and out of traffic). For all we know something could have popped out in front of him the same thing could have happend if he was doing the speed limit.

More like spending hours at a time staring into nothing and wondering what he could have done differently, his regrets.. and a lot of crying. Definately not a part of my life I want to revisit, but that's the truth.
Nightmares.. not so. Generally your brain exhausts every possile outcome it can think of before you let yourself go to sleep- or REM kicks in, one or the other.
My sympathies, btw
