Does anyone now if our cars have one. IF so has anyone ever bi-passed it and run the coolent directly into the block. The reason I ask is that my buddy with a prelude did this and it gave him close to 8hp on the dyno.

8HP eh?

BTW - nothing stops the coolant from entering the block on any engine.

The thermostat blocks the coolant from exiting the engine until it's set temperature though (acting just as you described)

We have ZERO coolant lines that run through either intake manifold or the throttle body.

We just start out much superior! laugh

Also there is no possible way anyone made 8HP by bypassing those coolant lines!

Even the LS1 would be hard pressed to show any dyno proof of gains from that mods. (+/- 3HP)
