The reason I ask is that my buddy with a prelude did this and it gave him close to 8hp on the dyno. MSDS Headers, Custom Exhaust, Superchip, Audio upgrades

The thermostat blocks the coolant from exiting the engine until it's set temperature though (acting just as you described) 2000 SVT #674 - Check it out! Whoever coined the phrase; "If it ain't broke; don't fix it" ~ Just doesn't get it...

Also there is no possible way anyone made 8HP by bypassing those coolant lines! Even the LS1 would be hard pressed to show any dyno proof of gains from that mods. (+/- 3HP) 2000 SVT #674 - Check it out! Whoever coined the phrase; "If it ain't broke; don't fix it" ~ Just doesn't get it...
