Gator,
Are those part of the butterfly screws hanging out of the secondary shaft? Maybe it's something else in the pic, but removing these and smoothing out that back edge of the shaft should help the airflow out. I didn't pull my secondaries, but I put in countersunk screws and cleaned up all the overhanging screws which seemed to help out a lot.

I don't see hoe just removing the secondaries would gain horsepower. Wouldn't this throw off the air/fuel ratio. Too much air and not enough fuel. Just my opinion. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Please correct me if I'm wrong. You're wrong cos the air/fuel ratipo is monitored by the O2 sensor, and the ECU watches the MAF too, so it makes adjustments as necessary. BTW, I have now secondaries either, and I puled the shafts out all together.

Only 4 hours and 25 minutes until I can experience it again. I love still being this excited about driving a 3.5 year old car. This has never happened to me before, closest thing before was the S-10SS for 2.5 years. Keep the mod ideas coming guys!!! Ported aluminum 3 liter upper is next...

Just curious how you guys are avoiding a cel? Demon had stated earlier that he would solve the cel problem with his chip, but does the chip need to be programmed to remove the cel, or does a "generic" programmed chip not let the ecu "learn" enough in the first place. I'm interested in optimizing the upper, and lower, with a possible removal of the secondaries, but don't wanna be running aroud with a cel on, ya' know?

Note about my pic. That is just showing the secondary butterfly's removed. I took the bars completely out. There was nothing but wide open spaces in mine.....

When the secondary shafts are removed, how are you plugging the guide holes for the shafts themselves?

You cut the shafts down so they still fit the holes, but do not protrude into the LIM, and JB weld it into the LIM. You leave the back one loaded up with the spring so the IMRC still thinks it is opening and closing the secondaries. No CEL if the IMRC thinks it is doing it's job...
