I have a 99 CSVT and shortly after we got it off the first owner, it was reving VERY high inbetween shifts and in neutral. To make a long story short they couldn't find anything wrong after many times to the service dept. Finally I did some research myself and they fixed it. I can't remember if they replaced or cleaned the IAC. But my RPM range isn't between 1500 and 2000, it is above. So is it the IAC, or something else?

Also on the same subject, I drove an 06 Stang GT and it reved a bit inbetween shifts. And now that I think about it, the SVT Focus I drove did the same. I don't like those revs inbetween shifts. My car didn't rev at all inbetween shifts and that is how I like it. WHY DO THEY CALIBRATE THESE NEW CARS TO DO THIS? Sorry if you have no idea what I am talking about.

I wonder if that is the throttle hang problem, anybody care to add their experiences? My old Lebaron GTS did that a little, if I was getting off the expressway and let off the gas, neutral gear. My SHO doesn't seem to do that, my sister's 1995 Mystique does do that free revving but below 2500 rpm. If you put it in gear, engine slows down right away.
