I was thinking the other day about how I hate talking on my cell phone. And, I don't have a land line. Has anyone here tried hooking up a cell phone to an old school phone like this one: I've searched Google, but all I found was something call a Dock-n-talk for around $150. I'm not spending that much. Any ideas on a do-it-yourself project?

You can turn the old-fashioned receiver into a headset for your cell, but I can't recall where I saw the instructions.

I don't get what you are trying to accomplish. Hook a cell phone to a land line phone how? Why? Do you just mean the handset of the old school phone?

If you could turn that phone you have pictured, into a cell phone, that'd be tite! Stuff that monster in your pocket with the receiver hanging out. It'd be the new fad I tell you!
Okay, what are you trying to accomplish, like the guy about asked? What's so bad about a cell phone? What's so great about a land line? Seems clear that you need to drop your cell phone and get a land line.

I would keep the big phone at the house, but hook the cell phone up to it instead of having a land line. I haven't had a land line in years.

Find one of those old Motorola bag phones on Ebay and get it activated. It is huge, not portable, and has a headset that you can pick up just like a land line phone.

there are plenty of how-to's on this one.... try looking a bit harder [you may also want to check hackaday, I bet they ran something on it].
I've been looking for one of those classic "Brick" cell phones.... you know the ones I'm talking about.
I want to retrofit my RAZR into one of those [along with enough battery power so I only need to charge it once a year.... and maybe a car cigarette lighter]
yes... I am a cougar owner trolling on your board.
