Actually, I drove the Leagcy GT, I liked it but didn't love it. It was almost too practical and capable. I'll consider it some more.
HUH!?
The Legacy is pretty bland to me - but because it is such a good car, I will still consider it. I do like sleepers.

I agree. It definitely answers your needs/wants list.
-Should be in your price range and NEW.
-Quick
-functional, 4 doors and gotta love the gargo room
-LSD for snow
wait and drive it and if you dont love it keep test driving vehicles until you do!
I wonder if there are any used 300C Hemi's inyour price range yet....
or a G35/G35X sedan...

I agree 100%. Snow capability is not a problem with snow tires for winter, which any car ought to have anyway. Other than that a 2 year old 325i would fit your criteria perfectly.
Another good choice is a 2 year old A4 - quattro, comfortable, looks pretty good IMHO and the turbo motors can be made to be very quick with a chip and some very basic mods. That may be the way I go next actually.

get a Speed 6 over a speed 3, simply for the AWD in the snow, plus, the car is pretty damn quick.

I see new 2005 Magnum RT's for under $24k in my local papers. That's quite a bit larger than anything else on your list. Back seat space for anything else listed is tiny including Legacy. Don't except adults to ride back there, kids okay. Gas mileage is lowest on your list, though.
I put a couple hundred miles on a Magnum RT and liked it. Interior is cheap for $35k, but $25k not too bad. The largest passenger space except Ford 500 for $25k.
The long in the tooth but refreshed for 2006 PT Cruiser GT is still a nice vehicle with power. Fun w/ manual tranny. I almost bought a 2004 GT.
I can offer a F&F discount, maybe employee price on most new DCX products.
Otherwise, G35, 325i, IS300, Lincon LS, Fusion, RX-8, Cooper S, Maxima, Altima, X-Type and many more options in the price range, new or used.

A 2004 S60R should be right around that price.

I just replaced my 2000 SVT with a Mercury Milan V6 Premier - sticker was 25,180 and I got it for 22,500. Great, quality car - brand new and an upgrade from the SVT in my opinion. For the price it included the moonroof and leather seats with a 6 disc CD/mp3 player, comfort package that includes a few neat toys including the fog lights, 17" wheels. I don't expect snow to be an issue with the FWD and all season tires. I'm from NH.
