98 se sport atx v6 130k miles.

Window stuck down, got the motor out (cut cables) the gears inside the regulator disentigrated.

I got the two bolts out of the window, but I can't detach it from the regulator/slide. The plastic nut/molly bolt looking things the bolts go into are still through the window, and it feels like something is wrapped around at the bottom.

The haynes manual says that you just take the bolts out and pull it out. Yeah, right.

Any suggestions?

Did you try this?
Step 9. Have an assistant hold the glass, carefully pry the regulator from the glass.

Well, yes, that's the instructions I followed. I had my wife holding and pulling on the glass while I worked with the regulator. Brian on the mailing list said I have to get the plastic mounting nut out of the window/regulator in order to free it, and the suggested using a socket to collapse the fingers.

I did sort of pick at them but did not apply too much pressure, not knowing what came apart how, and not wanting to increase the cost of the repair by breaking the glass.

I'll have another go at it tomorrow evening.
