In warmer weather and more often with the air-conditioning on the car will lose power and stall. Wait a couple of minutes and it is ready to run. The temperature is normal and gas tank is about half full.

This type of problem happened just after getting the car and would usually happen on hard accelerations when the fuel tank was at about ¼ full. The engine light came on once and the local parts store said the code read a possible catalytic converter. However, I have also read this could be the fuel pump. 2000 SE V6. It has new plugs and fuel filter.

thanks

Welcome . It could be anything. Scan the codes and post. That will help narrow it down.

There is no light on at the time. However, the problem is still there.

It might be intermittent. Scan it for intermittent codes and post.
