I hit a guardrail back in February and the car is in the process of being fixed. The problem is that the car sits in the driveway and the battery keeps being drained. We put a new battery in just before the accident and the car went dead a few weeks after. We suspected a ruptured cell in the battery and had it replaced 3 weeks ago. The car went dead again. Could the impact with the guardrail have knocked something loose? We jumped the car today and it ran fine.

Maybe. Sometimes the trunk light could be on and you do not know. Push down the rear seat at night when you are inside and see if the trunk light is off when the lid is closed. Other than that, the only way to test "cheaply" is to remove fuses one per day and let it sit overnight. If the battery did not go dead with the fuse you pulled, then you have isolated where it is.

Could also be the new battery was not fully charged and the normal small draw ran it down. Definitely check for the trunk light/glovebox light/domelight left on. If the hood isn't closed right, the hood lamp stays on, if you have one.
