I don't think my Superchip is working right. Is there any guarenteed way to check it? Anyplace I can send it to for it to be verified? I bought the chip used from an SVT owner. He, of course, said the chip worked fine (when I bought it). I ask because it doesn't seem my limiter was raised and my car Dyno'd pretty low.
Thanks

Does the PCM and chip codes match?

The codes I was told it was programmed to is the same as mine. Do you know what would happen if, let's say, the chip was programmed to a different car? I would think my car wouldn't start or run properly.

I would imagine you could tell from the get go if it wasn't the right code. Same thing if it wasn't working properly (Like hardware failure). You should have done a before/after to see if you were infact loosing anything from the chip. I have seen that before. Sometimes the reg. programs that are put on their may not be benificial to your mods. You may want to think about getting a custom program put on it. Especially since you have the Wideband O2 sensor data. I would wait until your completely done with your mods unless they offer some sort of free update (Which I believe superchip does) for custom chips.

I saw your dyno data and that absolutely sucks. There is definatly something going wrong there. What gear did you do the pulls in? What was the temp/humidity?

Could be just an inaccurate dyno, do you know others who have used the same one? How were there results?

Hope that helps

Did you install it yourself?

You can tell you computer code by looking at the sticker that is partially hidden by the borttom retaining bracket of your PCM.

That code should match your program on the chip.

The car may very well start and simply run poorly.

Also, I think chips, in general, are pretty hit and miss.

Make sure you clean the contacts off real good. I mean take the Pcm off then take the case off and work from there. Take a brillo pad and rub it on the on the Pcm to get it clean. Thats what we did and my chip is Kicking A$$.

I hate my chip, sometimes it works and than it won't and makes my car stall. Back and forth.
I asked Superchips to fix it (Already sent it back twice, once w/ the PCM), still no help they won't give me a new one.
They just check the chip out and tell me it works fine.

I guess this weekend I'll remove the pcm and chip and try cleaning it a little better. If that doesn't work, then I'll just ditch it and maybe look at something else.

99.9% of chip problems are from improperly cleaned terminals and/or loose fitted/mounted chips...

I'd agree with this.

Make sure you take apart the ECU and clean and scrape the contacts. Make sure its seated properly and securely. Its really the best way.
