I know that a garage has a book that helps then estimate time for repairs etc.
Is there anywhere on line where a consumer can go to help get an idea of typical repair costs for certain repairs. Standard thinks like replace the water pump or timing blet or whatever it was. Just to make sure one was not getting overcharged as an example.

Is that brand and model specific? I believe the V6 Contours are more difficult to work on than the I4, just because of space...

Also it shouldn't say costs, it should say billable hours, right? Each shop has a different hourly rate.
