OP thcab New CEG\'er T Joined: Dec 2005 Posts: 17 Canada	I have a 96 contour with 2.0 and I was wondering if any anyone would know if you can put a 2000 focus engine and tranny into the contour,without having to do any crazy mods or upgrades. That is if all the harness and mounts match up.

OP thcab New CEG\'er T Joined: Dec 2005 Posts: 17 Canada	Changing it all over tranny and motor from the focus. The motor is a 2.0 zetec just like that in my contour. The only difference is that the focus is a five speed.

You may want to head over to the zetec maitenence for this one... The Trannie is considerably different, im assuming you have an automatic in your contour, in which case the only trannie you will be able to get in there if you want a 5 speed is the MTX-75 Rod Shift (95-97) contour trannie... That is without major modifcation. an ATX to MTX conversion takes a lot of parts, a lot of time, and a lot of money. 98 Corolla LE 1.8L DOHC 1ZZFE TEIN H.Tech Springs Tokico HP series Struts Short ram air intake Tsudo Axel Back Exhaust ... if a jelly fish stung me.. would you pee on the wound?

mooselll Newbie M Joined: Apr 2006 Posts: 1	I own a 2000 focus. It had so many recalls on it, you would not want to use any part of the engine. The 2003-2004 engines got a lot better gas mileage and performance. If you are going to modify something, make it worth your time.
