It's got a billowing cloud of steam, and I imagine there is lots of bubbles in the coolant tank? The previous owner must have ignored the overheating problem he was having. The waterpump impeller tends to break apart. Also, the cooling fans tend to fail (bearings and or wiring). Still, that SVT was a deal for $400

Was the oil tan and milky? If just dark and a bit burned smelling, maybe you can try the waterpump first (unless you really have the thick white smoke). My Mystique had overheated a while for the previous owner, but it seems good now with a new waterpump, thermostat and coolant and oil. The cooling fan will trip at m on the temp gauge, A/C on will run the fan constantly.

well when I bought the car it didnt run, the previous owner said that it overheated and he turned it off. Well I had towed home today, I cleaned it up a bit and check the oil and it looked fine just dirty. I went ahead and tried to start it sputtered a few times then on the third time it started idled kinda rought then smoothed out. I let it run and after a few minutes it started to smoke out the tail pipes and the coolant tank kept releasing like air or something, like a blow off. I shut the car off and checked the oil to see it mirky now. When it was running it seem to run fine and I moved the car out of the drive way and it ran fine but it was only a min and a few feet.

When I looked at mine, it ran for a long time almost 10 minutes, no air escaped from the coolant tank. It was low on coolant but I did not run it long enough to heat up anyhow. If the oil turned milky in just a few minutes you probably are heading in the right direction taking out the engine.

Drain the oil and see what happens. Jim and I just did a headgasket on my old Sunbird, and I was amazed at the oil/coolant that came out. Pulled the plug out of the oil pan, and coolant came out for the first ~5 seconds, then a mirky oil. It'll take the guess work out of it anyway.

I drained the oil and yes there is water in it. I looked futher and decided to work on the car a lil more. Well it seems as the water pump is frozen and which may have caused the hEAD gasket to blow, im assuming its blown because of the water and oil mix.

The impeller probably broke and jammed. Make sure you get all the pieces out. Nice set of black Fords, by the way Black looks good on my Mystique, too.
