seems like we could extend the wiring to the clutch switch and hook up some type of switch that works the same way as the clutch switch.

Alright... look.. do what I had done in my 95LX (back in the DAY!!!)

Run another switch in PARALLEL to the clutch switch so that EITHER one can pass ground to the starter/relay

Mount that switch under the shifter boot in a location that is tagged in Neutral (underneath the 90 degree turn on the shifter cables) You could use a magnetic switch and place it underneath the shifter cables, so that in N, the shifter (or a piece of magnet secured to the shifter cable) would activate the switch telling the car that you had the clutch in.

mine is the easiest, well this is what i did for my atx->mtx swap

find starter relay. remove it. using test light and piece of wire, find which terminal becomes positive when key is cranked. then find which one goes to the starter. connect with a wire. voila clutch/atx saftey switch bypassed!

you can even gut a relay and "modify" the inside for a more professional look!

easiest (as stated earlier) isn't actually "safest", though.

The first method and my method are the safest. I, personally, would use my method as its IMPOSSIBLE to mess up and accidently move the car. You *could* forget to take the car out of gear and still pull the brake..

you can bypass the clutch switch for the remote start and still retain the proper functionality of the clutch switch by adding an extra relay into the remote start controller, find the wire that activates the relay that is connected to the start position on the ignition switch, add an extra relay activated off that same wire that momentarily bypasses the clutch switch whilst the alarm is cranking the car.

I saw a ST TDCi a few months back here outside the British Club... looked pretty sharp!

Where are you located?
