Likely not your motor.. You live in Ft. Worth, and its likely the high heat on the outer side of the roof that melted the plastic gear inside the motor. COMMON PROBLEM.
EASY FIX, NOW that someone (two companies) have made replacement gears (until then, a replacement MOTOR at ~600 to have done was the only option)
Contact Jeff Caplan at Odometer Gears (www.odometergears.com) for a replacement gear at ~55.00. it MAY strip out again, with high heat, but: lifetime guarantee means that if it does, they send you another one free.. for life. all of 20 minutes to replace. remove the maplight section of your roof, remove the 4(??) torx bit screws that hold the larger cover to the roof, then remove the sunroof motor from the roof itself (another 3(???) screws)
open the cover of the motor up and you will see the large round splined gear in the center and it will likely have marred, smoothed out splines in one section that is causing no turning.. order the replacement gear and replace.
MAKE NOTE of which order the gears are "stacked" in. they go in a certain order, and laying a "certain" way (heads/tails orientation, etc)
