OK, so my girlfriend of 4 years and I had not been having the greatest relationship recently. I have been busy working on my house and I have certainly neglected to give her enough attention. Well, we sort of split up a couple of months ago but I didn't take it seriously at all. I guess this sort of thing had happened before and I just assumed it was like the other times.
To make a long story short, a couple of weeks ago I found out that she is seeing another guy and had been for about a month. When I talked to her about it, she basically told me that she was just leading him on, etc. However, she didn't want to hurt his feelings so she wasn't going to break it off with him when he had done nothing wrong.
I thought, cool, I'll just hang out for a while and this will be over. Well, it's not over. It's getting worse. She is hanging out with this dude like every day and really does like the guy. Of course, I act like a complete dumbass and probably end up pushing her towards him even more.
I seriously need to be [censored] slapped right now, and I know it!
It just sucks because we were together for so damn long and I had every intention of marrying the girl as soon as she graduated college next year.
Anyone have any similar experiences?

IMHO - It's already too late.
She's already probably banged the dude - so do you want her REALLY back? Personally I wouldn't touch her. Sure, you're probably thinking "well everyone has had past lovers before "you" come along", and that's probably true, but you don't want to be the dude that picked up and ex after she went out and got some strange - it's a different situation, and not a good one.
Face it you screwed up - forget it and her and move on, you'll thank yourself (and me) later. Too much baggage and possible BS if you try and steal her back - the new dude is gonna make your lives hell.

Good advice, but my attitude is that she hasn't banged the dude yet and I've got to do something before that happens. Your absolutely right though, I wouldn't touch it afterwards. Its like, 4 years man, it's gotta be worth something right?
