95 se atx cruise control aint working bought the car used dont know hist. please help

when i got my 95 mystique the cruise control didn't work either. I was lucky and had the ford service manual to run the tests. My contol unit itslef failed. I was able to verify this by swapping the unit with the one in my fathers 95 SE. It could also be some other control unit, VSS IIRC. but this would cause other problems. So the best i can say is to see if anyone will swap control units to see if that is it, then it could be to the junk yard since they are expencive, something like $275 for a new one

My cruise went out, and I bought a complete "new" kit on ebay for $30 + shipping. There are still some auctions right now for the same price, and the kit is specifically for the contour/mystique.

seriously cause when I bought my tour it didnt have the cruise working, and Id love to get it to work due to all the meets and drags Ive been heading to lately, and none of them are close drives.

Sorry, I didn't check the post before now. I just looked, and there are no more auctions for the cruise kit right now, but here is the email of the people I bought mine from:

It came with the 2 cables (1 for v6, other for I4), the servo, the buttons, a wiring harness, a template, and the instructions to install it. Everyting was brand new and still in plastic. It cost me $30.00 with shipping.
