8.9s is what the Five Hundred does with the 6-Speed Automatic, not the CVT.

The V8 is also more expensive to buy and own. The V6 models are comparably priced (Lucerne is a little more).

The Lucerne is offering old-fashioned features, like 6 passenger seating, but the rear seat does not fold, the steering wheel does not telescope, the transmission has only 4 gears, neither navigation nor DVD entertainment are offered. It's simply outclassed and outdated.
