It looks a little to fluid to be that cold.

haha nice. I have done it before as well, well the first time i fell in, which is not all that bad. The second time i actually made it across with no problem.
Its fun to watch the people that are going across spray the crowd with water.
Which mountain is that?

I'm not sure about MI(never have been ) but the rest of the US measures temperature the Fahrenheit way which would make 10 degree water 22 degrees below the temperature that water freezes at(thank you Mr. Science). That's when they stop calling it water and start calling it ice!

What ever temp it was, it was cold enough that ice started to form so they had to delay the starting of the event and remove it. And it was pond water and had sat in the snow for 2 days. As soon as i hit the water i couldnt say anything, it was like a kick in the pants, my hand immediatly turned red and stung like no ones business.
But it was definately alot of fun.

Try freezing a pool of water when there's someone falling into it every couple minutes. It doesn't matter if it was -20, it doesn't stay still enough, long enough, to freeze.
