Well,I junked my '95 V6 5 spd last week, which is where that car belongs. High miles, with problem after problem that kept occuring and I kept throwing money at it to fix it and it just kept breaking. Even with routine maintenance and babying it,the thing just wanted to self destruct. I got to the point with it where I didn't even want to put gas in it anymore.
I have a sale pending on my Zetec Contour, and as soon as that sells,I'm done with the Contour game. I bought this one as a winter beater, while I was going to have my V6 rebuilt over the winter, but decided against it,a while after buying the Zetec, due to costs, and realizing the car has no value to begin with.I bought this one cheap, drove it for a week, and stored it.
To this day,I still regret trading in my perfectly good '98 Mystique for the '95,which is THE WORST car I have ever owned. Performance wise,it was better than my RX7,reliability wise,it was much worse in the reliability department. And trust me,the RX7 was no walk in the park.
Anyways,I would just like to thank the gang here for all the help, everything I learned and just generally a great group of people to associate with. I greatly enjoyed my time here, and just want to say a thank you and farewell to you all.
Mike

Good luck with your new ride (whatever it may be) Know that the parts on your old tour are in good hands. I was up there this weekend and took a few parts from it

Yeah are you ever right about going from a 98 to 95. I really should have kept the Mystique in the first place. Oh well. Live and learn. I picked up a 1989 Mazda B2200 pickup for $1800 certified from a friend. It had 128 000km,originally owned by an old guy,who my buddy bought it from. He was going to use it as a work truck for his business, but after about 2 months of owning it,he needed money for rent for his shop,so he had to sell the truck. I picked it up,and the thing ran mint, and I took it in for an emissions test and it failed, and had to bring it back for a diagnostic and the guy fiddled around with it and since then it's been f*cked. I've put like 1800km on it,and I've already had to replace all the oil seals and have the cylinder heas rebuilt, and now my oil rings on the pistons are sticking causing the truck to smoke like mad until it's warmed up. It's looking like I might have to do the bottom end now. Fortunately, buying the truck I left myself a financial cushion incase it did need work,so I'm not left in the dark like I was with the Contour when I bought it. I absolutely love the truck, tons of fun, great little thing to run around in and sooo easy to work on. I just have no luck with vehicles.

I had a Cobalt SS sedan on order from the dealer until I found out my insurance was going to cost me $8500/yr.
