I searched a bit on this, but I may have a unique problem.

I ditched my cruise control all together (needed the space in my engine bay and I never use it anyway...) and I no longer have the clock in the dash anymore. Is this going to mess with my horn?

My OEM horn stopped working, so I thought it was a perfect time to replace with hella horns. The fuse is fine, my next step is to replace the relay in hopes it's nothing to do with the clock spring.

I need a functional horn to pass saftey testing, so any help or ideas would be great!

You pull out the cruise control.....you will lost the horn.

Same thing happened when I removed my cruise.

By the way dont just replace the relay. Heres how you test the horn, relay, fuse and all the wiring all in one step.

Okay we know where the horn is located right? You simply unplug the horn, stick a 12V test light into the connector, ground the other side and have someone hit the horn......does the test light shine, if so fuse, relay, and wiring is good, so what isnt good the horn itself.

See how simple that is, dont start " well going to toss a relay at it", did you even check the connections, do they have corrosion, is there a damaged wire someplace?

Crap, I'll have to find some way to bypass the cruise control then. Does anyone that's messed with the clock spring have any idea of how I coul do this? I have yet to pull the airbag off to look for myself.

Actually, I've tested the 3-pin plug on the underside of the steering colomn for the horn switch with a test light and can see it doesn't work.

Assuming you have some knowledge of eletronics. You could wire it up so you flip a switch and your horn goes off.

No offense, but f^%& that! That's a last resort type thing, I'd like to be able to mash the OEM horn when I need it.... not flip a toggle switch

No offense, but you hit and remove [censored] from your car and screw the thing up. I was just giving you the best idea I had.

I had more use for an oil seperator to go in the place of the cruise controller, so out it went. With a turbo, water to air intercooler, extra piping and other misc items being shoe horned into the already cramp engine bay one has to set priorites.

How hard could it be to bypass the cruise controller so that my horn will work like it should? I really, really do not want to have to install a switch or button to honk my horn
