Higher combustion temperatures with the EGR plate and higher risk of pinging, but only because you are not feeding your cylinders some inert exhaust gas... Pinging is a little worse with the plate. I use 89 octane, and its better than stock in the pinging department...I feel the initial throttle response is much better. Big plus of the plate is you get almost no crap build-upon the back of your TB plate. Keepin mine
