I just installed a CAI using the BAT intake pipe, MAF adaptor, and K&N RU-3530. It looks and sounds good and the car runs a little better but I have a slight problem... The filter sits up way higher than the stock airbox did and it gets pushed down when I close the hood and it already scratched the paint on the underside. I'm not worried about the paint too much, but I don't want the filter to get damaged. I was wondering if there was any way to fix this.

Here's a picture:

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

did you remove the stock intake snorkle? cause without it there will be enough room to get the intake all the way in.

Just unbolt the fusebox, move it to the side, unscrew the 2-bolts holding the snorkle in and rip her out, you'll get more airflow too!

I just put my BAT intake pipe on last weekend and had the same issue.

Loosen the clamps on the intake pipe and push the filter and intake pipe down to a lower angle. Then re-tighten the clamps and you are good to go. Should be about a 30 second fix.

What color silicone connectors did you get? Blue? Mine came with black ones (I got the intake from SP Motorsports) so I ordered red ones from Verocious Motorsports. They were a little long so I cut them down to fit better.

I hear this from many ppl that you get better airflow if you take that snorkel out but my K&N filter on the top has an open element,it doesn't have a cap(like a chrome or black one that i see alot on this site)So I connect the top of the filter to the snorkel to let the cold air enter the top of the element.Do you think i'm getting better airflow or do you think i should still take the snorkel out?

I wish I had a picture it would be a lot easier than explaining it.
