I removed my old inner tie rod on my '98 SVT...it had the little plastic spacer for the wider wheels. I bought my tie rods from BAT, and it *appears* that the spacer is now built into the tie rod and I no longer need the spacer???

original - back of the tie rod that mates to the steering rack was totally flat - spacer provided the offset.

new - back has a lip, that in looking at and comparing to the spacer, appears to be the same thickness as the plastic spacer. Thus, when the tie rod is tight against the rack end, the lip would act as the spacer does now.
