i did a search and found somethings on my problem be none where the same . i know the problems with the waterpumps on these cars.the car is a 1995 2.5 atx. the car was running fine pulled up at home and found that my car was on the L most of the time it never goes above the M so i pop the hood and found antifreez was pouring out of the overflow tank from the place where the cap goes on . so first thing i do is change the t-stat. refill with antifreez then start the car let it warm up and no heat at all so i take it down the road and by the time i get to the end of the driveway the car is on the l so i backup and cut the car off and pop the hood and it is overflowing again.the fans work fine .so is it the waterpump or do i need to flush the system.

WP change how-to.
http://www.contour.org/mods/mods.php?s=howto&displayid=14

WP impellar is $70. Get the white impellar type at NAPA. Also change the WP belt (Dayco $12).

Edit. Additional how-to info from Autozone.
http://www.autozone.com/servlet/UiBroker?ForwardPage=/az/cds/en_us/0900823d/80/1b/c4/af/0900823d801bc4af.jsp

If you insist on sending it in, you are looking at $300 or so.

I would agree-water pump. Don't take the chance of driving it.
Replace it soonest.

The waterpump will solve that problem. Been there! Metal or white plastic impeller is good. You will find the pieces of the old black impeller inside the housing, find them all while you are in there. Also, change the engine oil if it smells burnt.
