i'll be pointed : for reasons of money & info i have resourced here , i'm going to order a 2003 Focus SVT fuel pump to substitute for a replacement ( ruturnless ) 99 CSVT . ( car will not start , believe disc screen is blocked )

i understand there is some amount of modification required . what is the extent of making this decision ?

i would like to avoid losing the money saved in the purchase cost by paying for extra labour to complete this !

comments & recommendations appreciated !!!

so a further search lead me to the article by Pale Horse .

his description is different from the "how to fix" article on the fuel pump . ( gas tank isn't dropped , axis is via the rear-seat portal ) which method should i recommend the mechanic follow ?

he also talked about re-using the contour screen ( why not the supplied focus unit ?? ) . i presume this is the intake-filter , not the "problem disc" . is this simple to tell the two apart . how would any of you explain this in your own words ?

thanks , I WILL STAY WITH THE " HOW-TO'S " STEPS !

1 final question for you all :

if you were to estimate the additional labour required for the FSVT f/p install over stock CSVT f/p , which of the following :

- plus 1/2 hr ; plus 1 hr ; 1 hr plus ???

many thanks !

Son,

1. Keep all of your questions/updates on a single problem in the same thread. You've got at least three different ones in two separate forums for a fuel pump issue. SSheesh! Scattered about, you're less likely to pick up the assistance you need.

2. There is no award for new posts. Feel free to use the EDIT function to add aditional info to a previous post if still within the allowed time limit.

Good luck!

Steve
