According to what the guy told me dad, sensors, injectors, etc, all that electrical is different

'95 = OBO I (Emmision Controls)
'97/99 = OBO II

'95 = Return fuel system (fuel tank to injectors back to fuel tank)
'97/99 = Non-return fuel system
Forget the '95. It may be posible to sensor swap the '99 with the '97 sensors.
Someone jump in here, what do you guys think?

umm the '97s are still the return systemunless is anlate 97 then it has a chance at being non-return

That's a good point. Give your VIN to a dealership and they can tell you. My 98 howerver is made in late 97 and although it has a VCT engine it has 4 bolt LCAs (early versions). The models got mixed and muddled durring that time. It's best to check.

Oh man dude. You are SOOOOO Out of LUCK!!!!

I just royally f'd up my transmission and sold my 1997 Mercury Mystique for $450. The engine was in utterly perfect condition at 107K! I had everything and I sold it to the darn transmission shop....Sorry, that engine would've been perfect for you!

I dunno... I guess I'll just drive it. I mean if anything I'll just have everything checked out, clean some stuff up here and there, tune-up maybe. I'm just tryin to figure everything out cuz here before too long I'll be goin to college and whatever I have when I go is what I'll have for awhile. Just passed the 165,000 mile mark tonight actually and still runs great.

....when this is stuck open it means the oil supply to
the VCT hub on the exhaust cam is on all the time. The
reason for VCT is to give EGR.With a stuck solenoid
you have the same effect as a stick open EGR valve. The
problem is almost always caused by sludged up oilways
in the VCT control valve and sol assy.A PIA & $$$$
problem to cure.Worse case you may need a new VCT
exhaust cam gear/hub assy...also $$$$$.

So why don't you just put your '97 head on your '99 motor?

That would solve all of the VCT problems.

Either that or put a FRPP head on the 99 motor. That would be soo kick-a$$.
