Does anyone have a Consumer Reports subscription? I need a new vacuum and I can't find any comparisons. I have no problem finding press releases from the companies and a few reviews, but I'd really like to see how they did head to head. If you could either look it up for me or loan me your login I'd appreciate it.

Thanx.

I miss the days where they actually did real reviews on each individual product. I have back issues from 1997-2000 (yes I was uber nerd in junior high) that I still refer to occasionally.

There is more detail available for each product, you just have to click on the Product Name. It's not too bad.

I can post some of the detail pages if needed - just let me know which ones since I'm not going to post them all!

I subscribe to them as well. I have most issues going back to 1980 in the house up north. I agree their current reporting methodology is much worse than when they told you about all the tested products, helping you make your own decision.

They put too much online only, to sucker you into buying more product.

However, having used their top rated Hoover, I'll stick with my Kirby.

I am the cleaning lady. But since that's all I have to do, I don't complain.

I've been a CR subscriber for a long time, and while I do trust many of their reviews, I really don't find their appliance reviews to be all that great, FWIW.

IMO, I don't know if you are looking for a canister or an upright but it's hard to beat electrolux.
