ok, so after an hour of destroying it trying, can anyone tell me why after the tabs on the side are pressed inward, and it should pull out, it doesn't, there is something underneath that kinda spins, what is it, and how do i get rid of it?

i want to install my pioneer!!

After inserting the removing tools, they must be pushed outward, or away from each other and then the unit should slide out.

It is important to note that you should not need to insert the tools forcefully. You should be able to insert them and feel them stop and then you should be able to release the mechanism by doing as above. If you jam the tools in too deep, you may mess up the mechanism so that you will have to disassemble the dash further for access.

It is also possible that the mechanism was damaged on installation because it was forced in without properly lining things up. If so, you will need to take the dash apart for access.

I don't remember what is needed to get to that part of the dash, maybe someone else can post about that if you need to go that far.

i got it, there was some plastic thing underneath the cd player that the wiring harness was wrapped around, i jsut pulled really hard, and the harness finally broke loose from the unit, it was trash anyways!!

this post can be deleted, thanks man
