I had the ever so common fuel pump problem, and i was trying to decide what to do. I searched and saw everyone talking about the SVT Focus pump, and looked into it. I ended up with the contour pump, since it was finally redesigned. Anyone know when they did this? i didnt see anything when i searched. No more crappy sock!

The new one looks just like a focus setup. It's held by the top of the tank, not snapped on the bottom, and you need to remove the piece from the bottom of the tank using a special service tool. Have anyone seen this new setup?

I think it is the same pump used for the Cougar recall.

There have been reports that it isn't strong enough to support the fuel demand of the Contour SVT. I have not heard any complaints lately.
