I recently installed the BAT air inlet pipe and am wondering if others have had problems with the position of the ACT sensor in the pipe. The sensor is pushed all the way in, but isn't as exposed to the incoming air as with the stock accordion tube.
Should I cut the nipple on the BAT inlet pipe shorter to allow the sensor to be exposed more or can I leave it as is?

you should sell the entire setup and buy the tried and true MAF adapter+RU-3530.

yes the MAF adapter+RU-3530 is the way to go, but it is also a good idea to replace the turbulent accordion pipe.

No, he isnt. You still dont get it, he is talking about the silver piece between the MAF and the TB seen here:
He can still add the MAF adapter and K&N after this, as the intake pipe has nothing to do with those.
EDIT: For the original poster, I didnt have any problems with mine. Sorry I cant help.

Yes, I'm talking only about the pipe that replaces the accordion tube. The bulb-shaped element of the sensor is definitely exposed to the airflow, but in the accordion tube, the red "wires" that come from the tip were also exposed...will this create a problem?
The car seems fine after 30 min. of idling with no CEL...I haven't driven it because it's essentially stored for winter. I'm just trying to anticipate any problems.
Could you post a close-up of the ACT sensor installed in your pipe?

I thought propper fitament of the IAT sensor was a pain. Very tight... and the rubber would get bunched up. Took me several times to get the sensor on well enough that the sensor was in the airflow.
