If not and you've seen a K&N than that answers your ? Again this larger cone filters are supposedly able to support/give more hp/tq than the KKM should as far as I've been told by those that are very much pushing the stock bolt on limits of the Tour'......

i definitely want to retain a clean(not necessarily stock)look. this sounds great but willing cutting give a cheap homemade look. also will the adapter support other filters if i wanted to switch. have u seen the shoshop intake setup w/ heatshield. that's the look i'd like to go for w/ max performance
...and yes, I did SEARCH first before asking.

Silva...check out www.autophysics.com That guy I believe is looking for an svt to make a custom intake for. Let me know what you think..his company is in Hawaii. He uses S&B power and funnel ram air filters..which I use myself and is at least the equivelant or better than a comparable k&n. I am using the 6" funnel ram one and it works better than the KKM I use to have. Eric

EricYeah I'm aware of these guys. They actually emailed me to use my car as a prototype for a complete bolt on kit for the Tour', I responded they never responded back. I guess I'll try and see if I can call them since it's locally and see what I can dig up, seems to be a good filter, probably better than the one I'm currently offering. All those concerned about fitment..... Ok well I took the liberty of measuring the area the filter would sit in the engine bay and it seems that the worst case senario would be trimming the area of the Air Box sticking into the engine bay. Since the filter doesn't cost much I'm gonna be getting one soon and testing it on my car, I'll compare it to the KKM and the Roar as well. If I notice a definate difference between the KKM and the Cone Filter as Demon suggest and fitment isn't a big issue than I will be sure to inform everyone!

Micah, I just came across the Roar intake then saw your post. Is the Roar that much better as they claim? What are your likes/dislikes/any performance gain or just feel. Thanks for your input, Mike BTW, did you have to remove the air box? You have an SVT right?
I have a dream, and that is a 69 Boss 302 with Jules Asner in it. Current - 2002 Chevy Silverado Former - 98 SVT E0 T-Red 4/4/97 #173 of 6535(so long girl, you'll be missed)

A true comparison can only be done on the Dyno or at the track but from what I've noticed the motor most definately reacted well with the Roar than the KKM. The Roar is actually very big that it's somewhat deformed from the hood pushing on it. But it's no sweat because it's not like the KKM where the whole unit is a filter, rather the Roar is housed by Carbon Fiber and the air enters from the front, plus the unit is pretty flexible that it kind of just molded its self into position in the engine compartment.

Do you have any pics of the system installed or by itself? You can go to www.roarinc.com for more info. It's basically the MAF and adapter and the Roar, same as KKM just different filter. No Dyno has been done yet, but the large cone filter has already proven to be more beneficial than the KKM on the Dyno!
