NEW P1518 question

I have been dealing with a loss of power and CEL's for almost a year. We've tried tune-ups, new MAF, new IMRC, new 02 sensor -- nothing worked. Then I got a new computer...and she runs great!! But, the CEL came back on with P1518 that the secondaries are closed. Obviously they are not because I can feel them open. My mechanic is stumped. Any other suggestions?

P1518 is not closed. It's stuck open.

Same problem I'm having with my car. It is a wiring problem. I might try to figure it out tonight if I get a chance.

That's kind of what I thought too. My mechanic must have mispoken because I know it was 1518. I can't imagine it hurts anything other than maybe gas mileage to have them open all the time, does it?

I'm getting poor gas mileage even with a tune up. Replaced a bunch of parts and my mileage went up about 50 more miles on a full tank, but still too low for my likings.

Have you checked out the thread I started about this same problem? I've done everything possible to try and fix this and still the same code.

P1518 WHY!!!

I have to take off the UIM this weekend and figure out which wire is damaged.
