The MS6 is really, really fat, and has some serious issues with heatsoak. Not a bad car, but critically flawed. The regular 6 is a nice car. Originally posted by Tabari: Audi A3
It's just a Golf. Nice car, but not really the same.
The SVT Focus is a GREAT car. Four-door versions are rare, but around. Nice aftermarket, too.
SRT-4s are Neons. I'm not a fan. They're somewhat interesting, but I just can't find any love. I adore the old Neon ACR (strip it down, stiffen it up), but this SRT (rice it up) thing is blah.
Subarus rock. If you don't mind a not-cool car, the Forester is wonderful. Great all-around utility car, but lacking in rear seat legroom. The turbo version goes like stink, and the newer versions of the N/A car have God's own torque curve. It's not much better at peak, but the powerband it awesome. It's based on the Impresza, too, so it handles great. It has a very low CG for a SUV-type thing (flat 4), and it drives like a sporty sedan.

I can't believe no one has mentioned the Ford Fusion. I believe that's the direct replacement for our car. Now if they could put a stick shift in the V6 model. Hopefully next year.

The Fuzion is a mid-sized car, like the Taurus, which it replaces. Ford has shifted from Escort Contour Taurus Crown Vic to Focus Fusion Five Hundred Crown Vic The Focus is closer to the Contour than the Fusion is. They are now missing a moderately sized sedan from the lineup, since the smallest grew (Escort -> Focus) and the mid-sized stayed about the same (Taurus -> Fusion). The Fusion is a fat Mazda 6, which is really very comparable to the Contour. It's considered a full-sized sedan in Europe (like the Mondeo), but a bit small here.

The Five Hundred replaced the Taurus and the Fusion fills the gap between the Focus and the Five Hundred. The Contour used to fill the gap between the Escort and Taurus. So I don't quite understand your argument or reasoning.

I think his arguement is that the 500 is larger than the Contour. So it depends on your needs if you want to go larger to the 500 or smaller to the focus... but there's no direct replacement for the Contour.
I really wish the old Supras had 4 seats... always wanted one, but no room for the family.
