The engine does not stall or die it keeps running, but what would this have to do with powersteering? I know that might be a dumb question but what would power sterring have to do with eletrical?

It just came to me. It has to be a faulty belt or belt tensioner. When the belt slips it stop charging the altenator, thus the car runs on only the battery. This could be way the oil pressure lights comes on as the car is thinking the key is only on acc. And this would also explain no power steering.
