heres my story, my wifes 95 contour 2.0L zeetec, 150,000 km, new wires, plugs, tps. About two months ago it ran like crap, no power, stalling. I found a major vacuum leak on the line going from the intake to the brake booster. I repaired it and the car never ran better, idled great, no more stuttering or pinging. This lasted for about a week until it progressivly got to where its at now. 9 starts out of 10 the pcm does a self test. The check engine light flashes twice, engine idle goes up and rad. cooling fan comes on. Sometimes after the self test it will give codes that mean nothing ( ie power steering not activated during test etc.)Figuring it was the pcm I got one from the local junk yard and it ran worse ( my pcm was "red3", the junk one was "red2". THe mechanic looked it up and said they were compatable.I am wondering, could I have a sensor failure that is putting me in "limp home mode" without giving me codes?Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as this is a car that still drives and looks like new and would sure like to find the trouble. Thanks

Welcome . It might be the PCM Fuse No. 9 and PCM Relay No. 11 in the Power Distribution Box. Check to see if it is almost broken.
