I know I'm a newbee and like most newbee's I should keep my comments (at least the negitive ones) to myself but......
I have been looking for some parts most of which are posted in the CEG clasified. So I'm thinking Great I can get my stuff and get on with driving my CSVT. But noooooo, when I inquire about items, I get either no reply or they have been sold. I think it is great when the stuff we want to sell gets sold!
But what is the purpose of leaving sold Items in the classifieds, if its sold take it off, or at least modify the add to reflect what has been sold.
If your intent is to sell something then respond.
In either case those posting are taking the time to post why not take the time to unpost (is that a term??)
I don't know if this issue has been covered before, (I didn't do a search, sorry) but if it has well, lets just say it need to be policed.
Maybe the webmaster can make it so that the add dies and goes away automatically with in a time period.

the classifies are a joke on here. The categories don't mean squat and you are right, they are rarely updated adds.

I believe the ads do die after 30 days. It says so in each ad, that it will remain up until XX/XX/XXXX date, which is usually 30 days after it was posted.

But I do agree, the classifieds are in pretty sad shape.

What parts are you looking for by the way?

I like it when someone has something for sale with no descritpion. So you write them and inquire...

"Hey, is it still for sale?"

Reply...

"Yeah"

No description...no history...no here's why I'm selling it...just "yeah"

Get a F'en clue...

Ummmmm, why don't you ask for a description? With the way classfied scams have been popping up, I'd be asking as many questions as I can. Unless I know the CEG'er, I'd also be asking for a ton of pictures.

True the classifeds arent that great on this site. I guess the worst thing is you write emails and you find out its sold. Its better than paying for something and never getting it.

I feel that I do a good job of selling things in the classifieds. I remove my ads when the item sells and put in a "Sale Pending" note when a transaction begins. While the categories do need to be improved and the ads need to be monitored, they are useful if you're not an idoit. I recently sold my Weapon-Rs through an ad of my own and my old HU through somebody's "Want To Buy" ad. The only problem I have right now is that all of my ads are listed under my login name instead of my username. I PMed Lance about it but nothing every happened. Now I just put a link to my profile into my ads and that seems to have helped...
