i always twist and tape so they come apert easier after i get it through so i dont have to cut the soilder or waste a connector

I believe in working smarter not harder. I would just buy a bypass connector it'S a whole lot easier. I did my SVT about a month ago and it cut out alot of work. Crutchfield has them for about $25. Good Luck!
