Ok i was pulling my car arround to my front drive way. i got on it a little bit and my car wheel hopped pretty bad. i put the car in reverse to back in the drive way and cut the steering wheel to the right. and a loud griding noise came from front like you were scraping your front bumper on the ground but only you can feel it in the steering wheel. i stop and go foward and the noise again. I straightin out the wheels and nothing. I go forward make a sharpe right then left and i here the noise again. The clutch works great, no leaky fluids, no problem when driving straight. You can even get on it and no problems. The only other thing is when making a left turn at 10mph the car bumps up and down like i have a bent wheel just a little. i got the car on jacks and i turned the wheels when in first gear and one wheels turns forwars and the other turns backwards but not smoothly, i put the trans in nuetral and turned the wheels and one wheel turns and makes a noise in trans when i put my hand back on to spin but i assume normal. what can it be. sorry so long, and my knowlage on where to put puncuation sucks but i have limited time. thanx

Could be a broken wheel baring. Get the wheel that is making noise up off the ground and rock it towards the motor and back out toward the fender with your hands a 12 and 6. If it rocks back and forth, you need to replace the baring. Next try rocking with hands at 3 and 9. if you can move the tire without moving the steering rack, you have an outter tierod bad.

Hope this helps.

I'd say you broke either the differential or a CV joint.

You better hope it's only a CV joint.

If it was the differential, would the car move? When mine went, the car revved, but didn't move. I think you're right about the CV joint, since it only happens when turning.

Mine does that too. It's the tire rubbing on the fender.
