yup, i remember that show . it was hosted by richard hart or something like that. I also watched beyond 2000. Both shows were on the discovery channel.
i also remember watching CNET shows like cnet central when cnet was an actual network so to speak, and when ryan seacrest hosted the "new edge"

i vaguely remember it...if i saw it again, i'd definitley know it. Around that time though i was more interested in shows like The Site on msnbc, and c/net used to have a show on the sci-fi channel (ryan seacrest used to be on it before he was ever "famous"). And there was this show on PBS called "New Media News." I think they were out of the bay area...it was kinda corny but i liked it. I actually became friends with "The Gixxer," for a while. Who was the game review guy on that show.

Yep remember both of those shows, tried to catch both of em every week when I was growing up.
Would be kinda fun to get em all on DVD and see how much of that stuff actually worked out. Kinda like browsing 5-10 year old Popular Science magazines. Some of it worked, most of it didn't.
But looking at a 50 year old popular science magazine and you'll laugh your ass off. Wheres my flying car damnit!?

You should re-read some of the articles in magazines like Compute! and Omni. It's scary how accurately they predicted events.

I have a MacUser magazine from 1994 that celebrated their tenth anniversary with a prediction of what would come in the year 2004. Some of their ideas were slightly off (to paraphrase, "the 2 gigabyte hard drives will make the 128K Mac's seem Lilliputian in comparison"), but several out-of-the-blue remarks were eerily accurate - for example, the prediction that Apple would shorten the name from Macintosh to Mac.
I can only imagine articles from more scientific magazines predicting specific technology of the future.
